Stress Relievers

According to D. Keith Robinson, here are some ways I can set myself up to be less stressed. Here are the two that have the most impact on me right now.

Find the right job

Having a job you love and one that can support a good work/life balance is a great way to start down to the road to a less stressful life.

A job where you can simply work less is always good, too. If nothing else you need to be able to take a break every once in awhile.

Today is my last day at the furniture store. I hope I get out of there early. There isn’t much left to sell and the people that are coming in want something for nothing. Yesterday was a long day for next to nothing.

There are a couple of things I will miss about this job - working with Alexis who is lots of fun (unless she is in one of her moods) and working with my manager, Dale. He is a great guy to work for and with.

I haven’t heard back from Franklin Covey yet (but she said it would be at the end of this week). I think I could do well there, I like their product and their philosophy.

I really want to find a job that I like, that will work in my life, that will be satisfying to me.

Stay fit. Exercise.

A healthy lifestyle can do a whole lot toward relieving stress…It’s important to find activities that work for you…The idea is to do something that gets you active, even if it’s just going for a walk every day at lunch.

One of the things I have let go lately is exercising. I was doing a lot of walking and doing Curves, even through the cold and wet winter. And then suddenly, it got to me. I didn’t want to walk another day in the rain. The weather is better now, but now I am out of the habit.

I am going to get out there and do it while I am off work. I’ll have the time and no excuses. And I really need it - for stress relief, motivation, calorie burning, book listening time, and the serenity of being outside.

By the way, you can read the rest of the de-stressing yourself article. Let me know which ones you need most in your life right now.
