Opportunities

Once when my daughter Beth was little, we were driving in the car. She was in the back seat and her dad and I were discussing something that had happened. I don’t even remember what it was, but she piped up from her carseat in back, “Opportunity! I didn’t do it.” I remember just cracking up because she used such a big word and obviously didn’t know the meaning. But she tried and used the “opportunity” to try out something new.

I am reading The Art of War/ The Art of Management by Sun Tzu and translated by Gary Gagliardi. He says if you identify problems you will find an opportunity to shine. The opportunity for achievement comes from solving problems. Success goes to those who find an easier way.

I seem to be good at finding an easier way. Somehow I can look at a project and see the most efficient way of doing it. I consider it a gift.

He also says to overcome obstacles you only need the right ideas and communication. You need to be creative while doing what you know. You use creativity to find success. You succeed with vision. There are only a few ways you can change what you do, yet you can continually adjust what you do. There is no limit to the ways you can improve.

You must invent your vision. You make yourself powerful with vision.

I am inventing my vision. I am exploring…motivating…and creating myself.

It took me forever to figure out how to comment for some reason. Speaking of opportunity read my trip report. I told that story to Mark and Matt on the trip. LOL!
