A Belated Post

It seems like a long time since I have posted. I took a last minute trip over Labor Day weekend to visit a friend in Hermiston, Oregon (hello Joanna) and then I was busy making all of the preparations for the Area 41 Toastmasters Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contest.
I lived in Hermiston for about 5 years. It has hardly changed at all. Downtown Hermiston looks the same except a few of the storefronts have changed names. It is still pretty in it’s own brown, rolling hill kind of way.
My friend’s home is above Hermiston with quite the view.

Right in front of their home is McNary Dam. We used to go there a lot and watch the fish ladders.

Here are a couple of shots of me and my friend Joanna.

The rest of me week was spent wrapping up the details for our Toastmasters contest Friday night. It went very well and we had some good competition. I’m glad I wasn’t a judge!
I am a fisherrman’s widow this week as David is in Ketchikan, Alaska with some friends fishing for King Salmon. I can’t wait for the barbecue!
While he is gone I will be working on some scrap-booking. I can leave it out all week and work on it at will. That is my creative venture for the week.
I’ll have some good, thought-provoking posts coming up this week, just wanted to get caught up and let you know where I’ve been.

Looks like a fun trip! Mark and I went to get Frozen Yogurt the other day and I saw a lady who looked so much like Joanna! But it wasn’t her.
