Second Hand Excellence

I was reading two different books and this thought came across: Excellence can happen in an instant - not perfection, but excellence.
You can decide to be excellent in a second. If I determine I want to be excellent at beading and making jewelry, for instance, I can decide - I will be an excellent beader. And then I can do everything possible to make it happen:
- take classes
- ask questions of experienced beaders
- watch experienced beaders at work
- read books on beading
- stay current on beading magazines
- practice, practice, practice
- have experienced beaders evaluate my work
The decision, the determination, happens in a second. The real work is just beginning.

Did you see my new classes? I can send you a kit if you like. I have sold quite a few of the 23rd psalm on ebay. I have about 10 - 12 people in each class, it is a blast. Somehow beading is very soothing when you are feeling down.

I really like “Naughty and Nice.” That is a great combination. I never would have thought of it.
I took apart a turquoise and puka shell necklace dad had given me back in highschool and interlaced the turquoise chunks with silver and sponge coral. It’s fun and chunky.
