saying no to others and yes to yourself reduces stress

Here are some more proven stress relievers from Texas Women’s University Counseling Center. These in particular have to do with self management.
1. Say “No!” Saying “no” to extra projects, social activities, and invitations you know you don’t have the time or energy for takes practice, self-respect, and a belief that everyone, everyday, needs quiet time to relax and be alone.
2. Unplug your phone. Want to take a long bath, meditate, sleep, or read without interruption? Drum up the courage to temporarily disconnect. (The possibility of there being a terrible emergency in the next hour or so is almost nil.) Or use an answering machine.
3. Allow yourself time - everyday - for privacy, quiet, and introspection.
4. Every day, do something you really enjoy.

Thanks for these de-stressing ideas. Its been a very stressfull week for Mark and I. I was in an accident with a semi truck on Monday. I’m FINE just my car is messed up. Luckily we weren’t going that fast so the damage isn’t as bad as it could have been. It was the semi’s fault so hopefully his insurance company will see it that way and pay to get my car looking pretty again.
There were also issues with our cable company, laptop issues and issues with BOTH of our cell phones. Ugh! A bubble bath sounds pretty good right now.
P.S. I need your’s and Daves phone numbers again if you get a chance to email them to me.
