New Books

Last night I took in sack after sack of books to Half Price Book Store. I had cleaned off my bookshelves and Josh’s when he moved out. Every once in a while I go through my books and take a good hard look at them. If they don’t have sentimental value or if I know I will never read them again…it is time to let them go.
I picked up some books while I was there with my credit:
Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult recommended by Aunt Nancy
I have read a few of her books and like the issues she tackles. I heartily recommend My Sister’s Keeper.
Ichiro on Ichiro I love baseball
The Interruption of Everything by Terry McMillan the author of How Stella Got Her Groove Back and A Day Late and a Dollar Short which earned its place on my bookshelf.
Plainsong by Kent Haruf I listened to Eventide and loved the story. It was one of those you hated to end.
Easier Than You Think by Richard Carlson (the Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff guy) The subtitle says because life doesn’t have to be so hard…the small changes that add up to a world of difference.
And Making Choices by Alexandra Stoddard…discover the joy in living the life you want to lead. I read one of her other books ages ago - Daring To Be Yourself.
All in all a pretty productive evening at the bookstore.
