Hawaii

Toni and I with the turtles. We were going to eat outside
but it started to rain. Within minutes everyone outside had
scrambled to get inside. It was raining so hard it looked asif we were under a waterfall.

A brief break in the rain allows us to get out of the
car on our drive around the island. The rest of the trip
was in a torrential downpour.

Beautiful sunsets.

We’re tired of the rain. It poured constantly,
all day and night long for five days. Everything
we owned was damp and clammy. Toni and I
had to buy sweatshirts. We were all bundled up
in our “traveling jeans,” jackets, shoes and socks.

Big furniture!

At last, the sun!

Pupus at Dukes after a hard day at the beach.

Fun on the beach…look no warning signs!

The weather forcast finally improved so we
lengthened our stay by three days.
We had a great time, and I couldn’t think of better people to spend rainy days in Hawaii with. We ate and drank too much, but what else was there to do? It was raining so hard that you got drenched as if you were standing fully clothed in the shower. I got caught like that twice when taking my morning walk. I had to wring out my clothes and shoes when I got back.
After the sun came out our attitudes and outlook on life was greatly improved. After five glorious days in the sun the rain seemed like a distant memory. David got to golf with his Hawaiian friend Kimo so he went home a happy camper. Now it is back to work and back on the diet! Aloha.
